Export your links and keep your recovery material

Download a readable Link Jar JSON export from your device. Keep your Recovery Kit separately, and understand how export differs from a backup or account migration.

How do I export my library?

In the web app, open Settings → Your data and choose Export. Select the scope and download the file. The app builds the export on your device from records available in its local library.

Let the account finish syncing first. Unlock your Private Jar to include its readable content. A device that has not loaded a record cannot include it.

What does the export contain?

The Link Jar JSON export includes readable links, notes and board information within the selected scope. Its manifest explains scope and omissions. It does not include snapshot file bytes or everything needed for a complete account restore. Link Jar cannot currently import that JSON file as a restore.

If you include private content, the downloaded export is readable private data. Store it somewhere appropriate. It does not remain protected by your Private Jar merely because it came from an encrypted bookmark.

Is an export the same as my Recovery Kit?

An export is a readable copy of selected data. Your Recovery Kit unlocks encrypted private content. Keep both for their separate purposes.

The Recovery Kit is a code or 24 words. Never put it in a public board, source repository or support message. Resetting an account password does not recreate the Private Jar encryption keys.

Can I move my account to another provider?

AT Protocol supports moving to a compatible host while preserving the permanent DID. The process needs repository records, referenced files and identity changes. A repository CAR file alone does not include file bytes.

The Link Jar JSON export is not an account-migration package. Keep your private recovery material and read the account-migration guide. A provider-owned handle may need to change when you leave that provider.

What should I check regularly?
