Contact us
Email hello@linkjar.io. To help us answer quickly, include:
- Where you use LinkJar: the web app, the browser extension (and which browser), iPhone or Mac.
- The app version, if you know it.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
Never send us your Recovery Kit, passkey or password. We will never ask for them.
Getting started
LinkJar runs on AT Protocol, the open network Bluesky also uses. You can:
- Sign in with Bluesky or another AT Protocol account. Enter your handle, then approve LinkJar on your provider's page.
- Create a LinkJar account. We host it for you, and you can move it to another provider later. LinkJar accounts open during the private alpha.
Use LinkJar in the web app at app.linkjar.io, with the browser extension, or in the iPhone and Mac apps. Your links sync between all of them.
Your Private Jar and Recovery Kit
Private links, notes and reading data are encrypted on your device. Only your keys can unlock them.
Save your Recovery Kit
Your Recovery Kit is a code or 24 words that unlocks your Private Jar on any device. In Settings, open Recovery Kit to view or download it, and keep a copy somewhere safe. We can't recover your private links without it. Anyone who has it can read them.
Unlock on another device
- Passkey. If you set one up, unlock with it.
- iCloud Keychain. On iPhone and Mac, Sync with iCloud Keychain lets your other Apple devices unlock with Face ID or Touch ID.
- Recovery Kit. Enter the code or the 24 words.
Your public links never need unlocking; they appear once you sign in.
Browser and Safari extensions
Browser extension
Install it from the extension page. Save the page you're on with Alt+Shift+S, or add it to Read later with Alt+Shift+L. On Mac, use Option instead of Alt. You can change these shortcuts in your browser's extension settings.
iPhone and iPad
- Safari extension. Open Settings, go to Apps › Safari › Extensions, turn on LinkJar, and allow it on the websites where you want to use it.
- Share sheet. Tap Share in any app, then choose LinkJar or Save to Jar.
Export and delete
- Export. On the web, open Settings › Your data. On iPhone, open Settings › Export links. The file is created on your device.
- Delete a link. Delete it from the link's menu. In the web app, its snapshots and highlights are deleted with it.
- Delete your account. For a LinkJar account, open Settings › Sign-in methods to reach your account page, or email us. For an account with Bluesky or another provider, use that provider's settings. LinkJar's index removes your public links when your host reports the deletion; email us if anything remains.
How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
